Frequently Asked Questions
How can I book you to speak at an event?
Here! I am a Licensed therapist, author, mother, teacher, and mentor. I specialize in speaking on various topics ranging from the power of curiosity as a balm for conflict and relationship struggles, the intersection of mental health and faith, anxiety and depression management, and parenting. I love empowering people to see the struggles as opportunities for refinement and providing hope amidst the hard things so that there can be trust and hope that no matter the “sandpaper moment” of life, if we respond with purpose and patience, the struggle will never have the last word, because it will draw us towards our refinement and restoration. And with a background in comedy, I also promise that we will laugh some because humor can diffuse the hardest of situations, and if I’ve learned anything in this life, it’s that humor and struggle can coexist.

What are others saying about you? (In a non-middle school way…)
“Martha’s welcoming spirit invites others into the living room of her heart in a genuine way. Her vulnerability allows others to connect intentionally in a safe space of freedom.” - River Oaks Church Women’s Retreat Attendee
"Martha has a way of weaving raw emotion with the levity of humor--all pointing to the gritty grace of this complex life. I trust her to take our hand as a guide as she models the art (& science!) of allowing our Maker to smooth the splintery surfaces of our stories with tender, yet bold care. May you laugh your way through as the most practical-permission-giver-of-all-time simultaneously brings tears to your eyes." -Meredith McDaniel, licensed professional counselor & author of In Want + Plenty
"With wit, warmth, and wisdom, Martha Metzler shows us how the stuff in life that rubs us the wrong way can actually make a whole lot of things more right. If you’d like to discover a way to reinterpret and redeem life’s abrasive challenges, you’ll relish these pages. Though she has the expertise and skills of a licensed counselor, Metzler’s writing feels more like a conversation with a good friend. Transparent, Christ-centered, and practical, Martha Metzler has brought us a much-needed tool for healing through the intersection of grit and grace." - - Alan Wright, Multi-site pastor, national radio teacher, six-time author, including Free Yourself, Be Yourself and The Power to Bless
What do you consider your specialty?
I am a licensed counselor in the states of North and South Carolina and own and operate a private practice. I believe that empathy does not discriminate and knows no bounds. I have a lot of experience and expertise in walking alongside clients who experience anxiety and depression and guiding them to see their own strengths and gifts, along with the coping skills to control their anxiety or depression so that they can experience a full life within their story, not despite it. I offer parenting consultations as well as individual counseling.
I love speaking to groups about the power of curiosity, managing anxiety and depression, parenting, self-care, and the intersection of faith and mental health. I believe in the healing power of fun, kindness, truth-telling without shame, and that every story holds the possibility of redemption.
